Square 1 Coffee has two locations in Edmonton. You get a free free birthday drink through the Square1 app. They confirmed that you can sign up right on your birthday and still get it.

Japanese Village has four locations in Edmonton. You get a complimentary dessert with a candle on top. But what I think is more important is that you get serenaded by their chefs and get dressed in a japanese samurai or geisha wig and vest. You can read more about this on their website.

Get a Donair combo by registering on their program using the Five Star app. Make sure to purchase in store before your birthday.
4. The Cheesecake Cafe
When you celebrate your birthday with them you get a complimentary slice of cheesecake. Just let the server know and you will get this at the end of your meal.
5. Sunterra Market
Get a free slice of cake and brewed coffee on your birthday! Make sure to download the Sunterra Fresh Rewards app.

Just show up with a valid ID and get a free Grand Slam on your birthday. I highly suggest you bring along a friend because the Grand Slam is massive. It can easily easily get two people filled up. The Grand Slam is about $17, making this one of the best birthday freebies in Edmonton.
