8 Best Ritter Sport Flavors Ranked (2024)

While it remains unpopular in North America, Ritter Sport chocolates have been captivating taste buds across Europe since the early 1900s. Distinguished by their colorful packaging, Ritter Sport offers a wide array of interesting flavors.

Ritter Sport is a German chocolate manufacturer, famous for their square chocolate bars. As of January 2024, a 100 gram bar will cost you $2.99 CAD when on sale. I personally consider Ritter Sport pretty cheap given its high quality. There are 46 different flavors of Ritter Sport, although your chances of finding all these flavors increases significantly if you live in Europe.

We got our hands on 8 different Ritter Sport chocolates and tried each one of them. Below, we put all of our thoughts about each one, and why our favorite flavor was so special.

Best Ritter Sport Flavors

Milk chocolate with whole almonds

I give the chocolate an 8, but I didn’t really enjoy the almond taste. Partly because as I’m not a big fan of nuts in chocolate, but also because the almonds tasted “old.” The overall taste is okay and the sweetness is medium (which is good). The second taster liked the hazelnut chocolate more.

Score: 6.5

7. Milk chocolate with cornflakes

I will give points to Ritter Sport for taking a risk with this one. It’s a nice option to have if you like corn flakes in your chocolate. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy the extreme crunchiness that much. I like the chocolate to be easy to chew through (partly why I don’t like nuts as well) but this was much crunchier.

I would be interested in trying this if the corn flakes were softer. However, if you want to test the strength of your teeth, definitely give this a try.

Second Taster: I like the crunchiness of the biscuit chocolate over this one, but if you like an extremely crunchy chocolate, with cornflakes, you will enjoy this one.

Score: 6.5

6. Milk chocolate with Praline filling

I liked this flavor a lot. The praline flavor is stronger than the chocolate, which for me was great. I also enjoyed how easy it was to chew through this, a refreshing change from the rocks in the cornflakes chocolate.

The second taster felt the praline was overpowering the chocolate and it felt like eating pralines with a hint of chocolate not chocolate with praline filling.

So, who should try this? Praline lovers and everyone else.

Score: 6.75

5. Alpine milk chocolate

Whether or not they use real alpine milk is unknown but it tastes creamier than all the other chocolates and I personally loved it. The milk flavor is more pronounced in this one. In the other chocolates the chocolate flavor is very dominant. I again loved how easy it was to chew through. If you like milk chocolate, you have to try this.

The second taster likes the chocolate flavor to be dominant and gave this one a lower rating. I was in shock, but if you like a dominant chocolate flavor I guess you should skip this one. But if I were you I wouldn’t.

Score: 6.75

4. Milk Chocolate Raisins and Hazelnut

The raisins tasted good, hazelnut was good but tasted a bit old. Chocolate was medium sweetness. No Complaints.

Score: 7

3. Milk Chocolate with whole hazelnut

Hazelnuts tasted a bit old in my opinion. Good chocolate overall, no complaints.

The second taster likes the hazelnuts, with whole hazelnuts, and really liked it.

Score: 7.75

2. White chocolate with whole hazelnuts

I personally really like white chocolate so I enjoyed the chocolate flavor a lot. However, I would have preferred this to be without the hazelnuts. But the chocolate tasted amazing.

The second taster, I like white chocolate and I liked it with hazelnuts, I would recommend they create chocolates with crushed hazelnuts instead.

Rawan: 8, Emad: 8.5

Score: 8.25

1. Milk chocolate with butter biscuit and cocoa crème

This was tasted really good and incorporating the biscuit made it really nice. I don’t really feel the cocoa crème as the chocolate tasted just like the other ones. I do hate that the chocolate comes apart very easily from the biscuit though. Medium Sweetness and a great chocolate combination.

The second taster was initially skeptical of including the biscuit but was pleasantly surprised. This is definitely one of the best Ritter Sport flavors

Score: 9.5

Important note: we are comparing these against each other. So when you see one of them is a 6, it is a 6 compared to the others. A ritter sports with a score of 6 is like an 8.5 compared to other chocholate brands.
